Los Angeles based band The Donnies The Amys released a new video today which uses new technologies to make their music video for their song “Runaround” interactive. Continue reading
Dead Sara • Mona Lisa
Electrifying. Supercharged. Exhilarating. Powerful. Unhinged. These are just a few of the words people have been using to describe Los Angeles based band Dead Sara. Although this video for their song “Mona Lisa” isn’t a performance video, it definitely captures the energy you can expect to see at the band’s two upcoming sold out shows at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on May 12th & 13th (if you’re lucky enough to have scored tickets).
Badflower • Seriously Dynamic Frontman
I had the chance to catch Badflower a while back at the Bootleg in Los Angeles, and what I was truly struck by was lead singer Josh Katz’s ability to be authentic. This authenticity became even more awe-inspiring to me after I researched the band a bit and found out that Katz often chooses to write by putting himself in other’s shoes, and expressing what he would be like as that person. Whether his power on stage comes from his ability to be empathetic, or his acting chops allowing him to morph into multiple characters, Katz is a front man who is seriously dynamic. In this video for their song “Soap,” Katz transforms himself into a rude catcalling man, something he claims he can’t understand.
Badflower is playing live at The Satellite in Silver Lake (Los Angeles) on Monday, April 20th. Don’t miss it… it is going to be a great line up of bands including Dorothy, The Golden Hippie, and DAMEHT.
Wake Up Lucid • White Collar Love
Cousin’s Ryan, Ian and Jamie have been perfecting their dirty fuzz rock sound for their band Wake Up Lucid for the last few years. Their latest release, a six song EP called Gone With The Night, is another giant blinking sign that Rock is alive and strong in Los Angeles. This kaleidoscopey video for their song “White Collar Love” mirrors what you can expect at their not-to-be-missed record release show April 11th at El Cid in Silver Lake (Los Angeles).
